Parents can help their children at Parent Academy on Saturday

Parents with children in Orange County Public Schools are encouraged to attend the Parent Academy that will be held this Saturday (May 5).

This event was designed to help parents and their children get the most from the school system.

The event, which is free, will cover topics such as:
·        How to get your children charged up on math, science and other tech areas which offer real-world high-paying jobs
·        Reading
·        College prep
·        Mental health and more

Special sessions will also be held for children while the parents are attending workshops.

Breakfast and lunch will be offered.

The academy will be held at the new OCPS Center for Academic Excellence, 701 W. Livingston St., Orlando. It’s down the block from school district headquarters, and across from the old Orlando Arena site.

You can register at the door on Saturday. The event starts at 9 a.m., ends at 1 p.m.
