The new Senate Republican plan to repeal and replace Obamacare will adversely affect many working-class and needy black people. Yet black people have not been taking to the streets of Orlando to protest. However, one of the few black protestors at a demonstration this week outside Republican Sen. Marco Rubio’s Orlando office explained why black people have a major stake in this issue to protect themselves and their loved ones. Every Tuesday at least 30 protestors gather at noon in the plaza at Church Street and Orange Avenue in downtown Orlando to protest plans to repeal and replace Obamacare and to protest actions by President Donald Trump.
