College fair Wednesday for local high school juniors and seniors

A college fair will be held this Wednesday at the Holden Heights Community Center to help local high school students.

The event – organized by Florida Rep. Bruce Antone – will feature representatives of several high-profile colleges and universities.

Some of the schools represented at the fair include Bethune Cookman University, Florida Institute of Technology, Daytona State College, University of Miami and Auburn University.

Representatives will be on hand to meet high school juniors and seniors and their parents to explain the college admissions process and how to pay for college and request financial.

This event will be especially helpful for students who might be the first member of their family to attend college.

The timing of this event is crucial because college admissions tests will be administered soon. In fact, this Thursday is the deadline to register for the SAT test that will be offered in November. To register for the test, click http://tinyurl.com/hg8bxzy

The college fair begins at 6 p.m. in the community center, 1201 20th St., at the corner of the South Orange Blossom Trail. For more information, call 407-445-5313.
