Activists took a knee at Pro Bowl to fight racism
A small group of Orlando activists and their supporters on Sunday braved the rainy weather at Camping World Stadium to “take a knee” for justice in the African-American community.

The demonstration was held at the stadium that hosted the NFL Pro Bowl on Sunday.
Their demonstration was inspired by former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick who started taking a knee to silently protest racism and the tidal wave of police killings of unarmed black people throughout the United States.
The protest in Orlando also spotlighted environmental racism in the historic Parramore community that is adjacent to Camping World Stadium. A Huffington Post special report last week showed how air pollution and the concentration of toxic dumps in that community is killing people.
In addition, they called for more efforts to protect people of color in the LGBTQ community. The Rev. Brie Taylor, who is pastor of the only church in Orlando that ministers to gay people who belong to the LGBTQ community said last year has been the deadliest on record for people of color who are transgender.
