Ernestine Mosley was an education giant
Ernestine Mosley was a tiny woman.
But in Orlando, Mrs. Mosley was an education giant.
Born in Reidsville, Georgia, she moved to Orlando when she was 4. She has an MA in Education from Temple University and a BS in Education from FAMU.
A mother of two, Mrs. Mosley taught at Jones for years and at Howard Middle School.
Mrs. Mosley went on to Robinswood Middle School as a guidance counselor and then she was promoted to the assistant principal. From there she went on to serve as assistant principal at Winter Park High School before she retired and launched the High-Tech Tutoring Center.

Asked to explain the passion that drove her, Mrs. Mosley once said, "If I can help somebody, then my living will not be in vain..."
Mrs. Mosley started the High-Tech Tutoring Center, a non-profit, to help children whose parents couldn’t afford to send them to the high-profile expensive tutoring services. In recent years the center broadened its scope to work with people living with autism.
During more than 25 years since Hi-Tech launched, its team worked with roughly 5,000 local children, many of whom went on to college and successful careers.
Despite her age, Mrs. Mosley continued to work until a few weeks ago when she was overtaken by declining health.
Since then, her daughter Holly Mosley-Cooper took over as executive director of the High-Tech Tutoring Center. Mrs. Mosley-Cooper vowed that the High-Tech Tutoring Center’s mission will continue.
In addition to her daughter, Mrs. Mosley is survived by a son, a sister, 4 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews and a grateful community.
Mitchell’s Funeral Home is handling arrangements. The final details on her homecoming services were still being worked out Tuesday night.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Mosley-Cooper said the family would be grateful if the community expressed condolences and thanks by making tax-deductible donations to the High-Tech Tutoring Center. For donation details, contact info@jmcenterprises.biz
